Physical Art Forms

Chapter 12 of Stewart's text is entirely dedicated to physical art forms, particularly various kinds of sculptures such as representational artworks, nonobjective artworks, and abstract artworks. While the Tri-Cities as a whole isn't very artsy, especially when compared to the West side of the state, we are slowly seeing more art pop up around town. One example is the art work that is being placed at all of Kennewick's new roundabouts! There are several new roundabouts going in around the Southridge High School area and an artist from Hood River, OR was commissioned to produce the sculptures for these roundabouts. The flowers seem pretty abstract but the second sculpture is definitely representational of the Tri-Cities. There is a man trying to hang onto his child, who is flying a kite and getting blown away by the wind. I can relate to feeling like I'm gonna be blown away by the wind here! You can read more about the designs at the following site, what do you think?
